First let me tell you a bit more about Ever After in case you haven’t heard about it yet! “Ever After” is a mixed media art & style development course with a fairytale theme hosted by Tamara Laporte from Willowing Arts. Tam is joined by 15 popular mixed media art teachers who will all share beautiful fairy-tale & myth inspired lessons with you AND they will also divulge all their hints and tips on how they developed their own style and how YOU TOO can find your own unique voice as an artist! 🙂 Yay!
You can find out all the dates (and sign up with the Early Bird price) by clicking HERE
My chosen fairy tale is “Mother Nature, the myth of Gaia

My lesson will be inspired by this fairy tale, I have some fabulous ideas cooking! I’ve not fully developed my class idea yet, but I’m excited to be sharing this theme with you, as I have a deep love for nature and many of my paintings reflect this. I also adore using watercolor and mixed media , and can’t wait till we can explore and discover this medium together, and how it can make your painting magical and unique. You can see an example in some of my paintings, and how I like to “tell a  visual story” as well.

  2. My answer seems to be changing every day 🙂 Today I’d like to be Thumbelina. I know there is a lot of criticism of the tale, but I think hanging out IN the flowers would be lovely and a nice spring evening.

  5. Hi Katrina – thanks for a chance to win a spot in Ever After. It looks like an amazing course. One of y fav fairy tale characters is the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz. He was such a smart, loyal friend to Dorothy. 🙂

  8. I’d love to be Elsa from Frozen! I’ve even been told by a friend that I remind her of Elsa. She is independent and strong. I don’t like hot weather (I live in the north of Sweden) so I’d love to have ice magic! Conjure up a castle made of ice and a cute little snow man. That would be just awesome!

I love your art, it’s amazing. ❤ It would be so much fun to take part of your lesson.

I shared your blog post on Google + and Twitter.:-)

  10. Thank you for the chance to win Katrina. I’ve been admiring your work for a while and absolutely adore the story your work tells.
If I we’re a fairytale character I think I’d like to be Snow White living in the beautiful woods, singing with the birds – and I’d of course take up painting out there.

  11. Hi 🙂 I shared this post on Pinterest. My art section over there is quite a busy one.
I am so glad you are going for Gaia ❤ Have a statue of her and there is a candle burning in front of it every day. The stories about Avalon always get to me.
Thank you so much for this opportunity, Susanne

  12. I love the Brother Grimm fairy tales. It’s difficult to choose one among them. I always liked Hansel and Gretel, but more because of the house than because of the caracters.

  14. Hi! I love all fairy tales so this is a hard choice. My favorite fairy tale when I was a kid was the 12 dancing princesses. At night they would sneak into another dimension where trees were made of crystals and everything was magical, then they would dance the night away. So I think I’d choose to be one of those princesses. 🙂 – Trina Kelley

  17. Hi Katrina! Thank you so much for the opportunity to win a spot in this class. I am a huge admirer of your work. I think if I could be a single mythological character, I would choose Greek goddess, Athena, goddess of justice and reason, patron of the arts, defender of her city and inventor. Her ingenuity and strength appeal to me.

BTW, I already subscribe to your newsletter and have shared your post on FB. 🙂

  19. The first fairy tale I loved was Sleeping Beauty because well, she was a pretty princess & her Fairy godmothers reminded me of my great aunts, but I also love Aladdin, so I’ll have to let it percolate a bit longer to see which one wins out. Thanks for offering a chance to win a spot in for the class!

As for my character, I was going to say Alice, because I have always loved her so…but I think I prefer to be the Goddess of Spring-Ēostre.
Thank you for this opportunity- your art is exquisite!
