Free watercolor tutorial
I’m so excited to share this free watercolor tutorial with you… I adore creating portraits in watercolor with a little bit of fantasy and story-art mixed in.
Happy new year, may your 2019 be filled with blessings!
Hi friends! Today I wanted to share this free tutorial with you on intuitive painting. It’s something you don’t need a lot of time for, and can easily do in your journal. This was my bonus lesson for the Creative retreat 2017, and so I share some of the things I was going through that year.
We don’t always have time to create a masterpiece, sometimes we just need to sit down and express what we have to say.
Here are the supplies I used:
- Your journal, or mixed media or watercolor paper.
- XL graphite blocks or crayons
- White gesso and old credit card for moving it around
- Black gesso or acrylic
- Red watercolor or fluid acrylic
- Charcoal pencil, or willow charcoal
- White charcoal or pastel pencil
- Porcupine stick or scratching tool
- wide paintbrush
- White oil bar or oil pastel
I hope you are able to out aside a little time to enjoy these videos and express from the heart.
Feel free to share in my Facebook community group, I would love to see what you create!
So the other day I was feeling a little grumpy with a bad cold and overtired (as mommies of toddlers tend to be) until the mail man showed up…
and OMG a Jane Davenport box was in his hand! You can imagine what a happy surprise it was when I opened it up to discover not one but 4 pastel palettes! It’s a good thing I had my fainting couch nearby, hehe 😛 Thank you for cheering me up Jane!
So eager to try them out I decided to share the process with you and maybe get you inspired to try these beauties for yourself!
They look just like a beautiful eye-shadow make-up palette so of course I was called to create an eye 🙂 Fun!
I hope you enjoy creating with me! Make sure to check out Jane Davenports awesome supplies, tutorials and online workshops on www.janedavenport.com 🙂
Here are the supplies I used:
- Jane Davenport palette pastels
- Baton blenders
- Soft brush and pan pastel applicators
- Black, white and a gray pastel pencil
- Pastel paper (I used Pastelmat)

Hello dear friends and artists!
Today is my birthday and I wanted to celebrate it with this gift to you, a little free tutorial for you to enjoy! With this never ending winter, and currently sick with the flu, I felt like creating something to welcome spring so here it is..

just for you!
I’ve been busy planning my upcoming class lately and I know some of you can’t wait to hear more!
But as there will still some time before it opens, I wanted to get you inspired and maybe have a little taste of what one of the lessons might be like!
I tried to stay loose and just have fun with the process, not really planning anything before I started so that I could work entirely from intuition and just…..

BETWEEN TWO WORLDS
When we catch a brief glimpse
Of an unearthly light
Or we have that strange sensation
Of wise and watchful eyes…
It’s that deep warm feeling
Or maybe a shiver of delight
When angels are nearby
And our two worlds collide.
Enjoy this short free video on how I created her!
As I stand in the full moon’s light
I breathe in her energy, nurturing the night.
She fills me with her magical spell,
Awakening a thirst for freedom and flight.…
Freedom to be, and to discover
That side of me often kept hidden.
She melts away my insecurities
With the hope of New beginnings.
She fills my heart to overflowing,
My soul slowly healing and transforming.
I stand in full moon’s light
Igniting my hopes as my dreams take flight.
Enjoy watching how she takes form in this see video 🙂
This was my first video ever to be created, watch how this fairy was made.
