Italy retreat 2020

Dear friends,

Have you been longing for a creative adventure?

I’m so excited to invite you to Italy, a magical country rich with a unique mixture of art, culture, nature, history and culinary delights… A real delight for the senses!

Situated in the central-northern region of Italy on at the foot of the  Apennine Mountains, Bologna has become my home since almost twenty years now.

In this place of exquisite beauty and magic, I instantly fell in love with its ancient culture, dramatic landscapes, beautiful language, and delicious food.

Italy is a place of endless inspiration for creativity with its historical architecture, vivid colors, ancient culture, and myths of gods and goddesses, of warriors and of ancient magic…

As you stroll down ancient cobble stoned streets and wander around discovering beautiful sculptures and treasures, you discover the intimate essence of this magical country.

In this one week, all-inclusive retreat, we will experience a full immersion of the senses!

We will have plenty of studio time creating beautiful, soulful art, and spending restorative time immersed in nature.

I will also be giving sound healing sessions for relaxation, well-being, and to open our creativity and vision, connect with Mother Nature, and our guides.

Are you ready to join me for a life-changing, soul activating adventure?

Your time with Katrina:

Your creative week will be a delightful mix of studio time, fun excursions, cultural experiences with plenty of free time to relax and regenerate.

Katrina will guide you through many projects ranging from portraits, story art, creative landscapes, animals, sketching on location, all inspired by the Italian culture and nature.

For our inspiration we will take nature walks in the surrounding area with characteristic rolling hills with vineyards and forest trails.

We will wander the colorful winding streets of Bologna and Venice and view some of the most beautiful architects, sculptures and artifacts.

yOur home for the retreat

Fattorie di Montechiaro is a beautifully rustic and elegant farmhouse & winery that dates back to the 1200’s.

Situated up on the hills surrounding Bologna, Fattorie Di Montechiaro is rich with medieval history and culture.

Completely immersed in nature, with a peaceful and restorative atmosphere, our delightful host Carla and her daughter welcome us with their special Italian hospitality and kindness.

The breathtaking view of the valley and the vineyards and forest leave many opportunities for long restoring walks in the nature.

Meals at Fattorie di Montechiaro are prepared by Chef Andrea, with hand-picked, local products, giving you a real taste of the authentic Italian cuisine.

Homemade pasta, bread, cheese, marmalade and pies are part of the daily servings, along with wine and fruit from their own vineyard and orchids.

THE STUDIO

For our studio time we have a gorgeous bright and airy room with a beautiful view, where we can spend all the time we like creating with watercolor, mixed media & collage papers, sketching and painting.

(We may even paint En plein air weather one day, weather permitting!)

*Please note that there are stairs on the premises and you will need to be able to get up and down them to access the classroom and bedrooms.
