This painting won the July 2021 art challenge in the Milan Art Institute.
This self-portrait was a huge challenge for me.
I have always had so much resistance to painting myself, due to a series of traumas and abuse while growing up.
I had become ashamed of my body, afraid of my femininity, and tried to avoid being seen or noticed so that I wouldn’t risk being hurt again.
It was only many years later that I began my healing journey through art.
I finally came to realize that we can either let life’s traumas break us or make us.
And through overcoming our fear we can become a better person, and a wiser person.
That instead of hiding our light to protect ourselves we can shine it bright enough so that it lights the darkness around us… So that others that are suffering through the same are encouraged to heal themselves too.
When asked what motivates me in my art I realized that light is what fascinates me.
Painting that inner light and glow that each of us have but are possibly hiding due to fear or shame.
I have always been fascinated by jellyfish, and how something that holds so much beauty can also bring so much pain.
Just like life in a way, that without the suffering and pain experienced, I might have not been able to see the real beauty of life, and feel the need to share it through my art.
Art is my passion, it’s my life, it’s my healing light.

My creative process when I paint is very intuitive.

Often I begin a piece without a specific idea in mind and just let it evolve as I go with the flow. Many times I paint from my dreams and soul memories that emerge as I create, letting my heart and soul lead the way.     

My inspiration comes from my dream journeys, the faery and elven realms, the beautiful nature of forests and the sea, ancient symbols and sacred geometry, angelic and spirit realms animals, and of course, all things mystical magical.     

My intention is to create beautiful art that will empower, inspire, and bring soul connection and magick to those who view it.
