Now we get to start adding some line work. I also use a thin brush and glaze darker layers of color over to get more definition to her face and hair.
At this point I really start liking her face and want to add more contrast around it to draw the eye to the center of the painting.
Sometimes watercolor doesn’t get as dark as we’d like it so that’s where acrylics come in.
I will be using fluid acrylics but if you only have heavy body acrylics make sure to use enough water to dilute them together with an acrylic glazing fluid so as to keep the intensity of the color.
