Creating a faery altar

The most effective way to connect with the faery folk is through nature such as taking long walks in the forest or in uncontaminated places, visiting the same spot often so they get to know and trust you, spending time in your garden or terrace.

While there, you can closely observe the trees, plants, and flowers, listening closely to the breeze as it carries their laughter or chatter.

Maybe you’ll notice flashes of light or movement in the corner of your eye or your child or pet suddenly go still while looking at something seemingly invisible.

Or maybe you feel a slight cool breeze on your skin when there is no wind or a buzzing or whispering sound in your ears.

Often they like to get your attention by making items suddenly disappear or mysteriously end up in a completely different place than where you left it…

These are just a few of the signs the faery folk are nearby and very much alive and present.

Sometimes, due to circumstances we can’t control, we cannot get out into nature. Maybe you are undergoing quarantine lock-down like me and are not even allowed to go on nature walks at this time.

Or maybe you are suffering from health problems and can’t get outside often.

Whatever the case, I want you to know that it isn’t necessarily important to have that physical connection to nature to be able to connect with the faery folk.

In fact, they very clearly showed me that they were very happy to bring nature to me!

We can also set up a Faery altar in our home, garden, balcony, or back yard to show them we want to connect to their energy. By creating a space for the faerie folk, we are letting the universe know that we honor and respect them.

This is also a place where they can feel safe and protected — a place where you can communicate privately, a place of focus.

And as you open your heart and home to the faery folk, you will notice the abundance and joy that will follow.

So let’s talk a little about creating a faery altar.

Since I am stuck indoors (as I imagine many of you are at this time) I will show you ways you can set up one in your home. If you have the means to do so outside in a safe and sheltered spot, then that is just as well too.

Mine is very simple and set up right on my art table in my studio, where I create every day.

This welcomes them into my creative space and is also probably the safest place in the house away from little hands and paws.

I’ve found that there are no rules to what you add to your altar or space and I often change things around every couple days.

However, there are a few primary things you’ll want to have present and I’ll talk more about that now in the video:

So let’s take a look at how you can begin setting this up and some of my ideas and tips.

Remember, if faery folk are getting to know you it may take a little time for them to adjust and gain their trust.

Just like us humans they have emotions and sometimes can be a little shy at first. Just be gentle and let them know you are here to connect and work together.

You can also directly address your faery guide that showed up in your meditation to help lead the others to you. Those that are more eager and playful will probably show up first making way for the more shy ones later.

Wasn’t that fun?

Don’t worry if you start out with only a few items. I’ve found that if I clutter my altar space the faeries start playing tricks on me. They don’t care for cluttered or messy spaces so better start with a nice clean and airy space which you can eventually add on or change with time.

So let’s take a closer look now at some of the crystals and stones I found are helpful for working with the faery folk. Don’t forget to share your altar pictures in our Facebook group. I’d love to see yours!
