Wild woman

“Within every woman there is a wild and natural creature, a powerful force, filled with good instincts, passionate creativity, and ageless knowing. Her name is Wild woman.” – Clarissa Pinkola Estes

As some of you well know, I have a passion for all things mystical and magical.

I strongly believe in spirit animals and totems, and how they can play a big part in our lives.

I love to represent animals in my paintings to present a symbol or a story.

When I started this painting I had an urge to express that wild woman inside, often hidden or subdued, or just below the surface. That wonderful, intuitive part of us that longs to be free and break the rules, show our feelings and emotions, without fear or shame.

It was full moon around the time, and I got this image in my mind while I stood out in the night and gazed at that beautiful full moon in all it’s glory and magical energy.

I could just imagine my soul wild and free, howling like a wolf in the moonlight. 😛

So as we go into this next project, try to ask yourself these questions:

Remember Pintrest is a great source of inspiration. I have created a board for just this purpose.

Now think of a color that would suit this image in your mind and focus on that.

For me blue means magic, mystery and deep intuition. I often paint in blue shades for just this purpose.

Ask yourself what color would represent what you long to express. Colors can really create the ‘mood’ of the piece. They tell their own story.

Let’s put this all into practice and have some fun! Let’s let the magic flow through us. 🙂
