So let’s begin with drawing our scene.
I used this photos reference of Lady Galadriel, which you can download here, or feel free to use any other image you have that inspires you:
We will start off with sketching Galadriel in charcoal. I am using the photo of her as a guideline for the facial features and lighting, and as an initial launching point to then compose our own scene.
We want to set the charcoal with water and gesso so that it doesn’t mix and muddy our paints once we add them.
I believe it also helps us get over that fear of the “white canvas” when we need to start adding our colors…
