Stones and crystals attract faeries and I don’t blame them!
I have always been highly attracted to crystals and stones as well and their healing properties and energies.
Stone and crystal beings are elemental spirits as well and get along very well with the faery. Faeries love to make homes in crystal geodes, use stones for healing, or just play with and admire their beautiful energy.
Stone circles, just like faery rings, are known to be portals to the faery realm since the beginning of time.
The connection of the stone people and the faery folk date way back to ancient history and I believe that by having a few stones or crystals in our space we can also make them feel more at home and comfortable around us.
You don’t need many, even just a few little nature rocks or crystal tumbles will do… (unless of course, you are a crystal freak like me and love their energy so much you need them everywhere!)
I often gather rocks during my nature walks in favorite places. I believe they hold the energy of the place they dwell in, and can invite the faery folk and nature spirits from those areas as well.
Here are a few that I have found to be useful in connecting with the faery folk and working with them.
Please note that working with stones and crystals is a very personal experience and you will have to try for yourself what works best for you.
All of the crystals and stones listed below are from my personal collection that I have worked with over time.
Some of these might not be classically listed as faery stones, but in my experience over the years they have helped me work with faeries and nature spirits more deeply, connecting with their energy in various ways.
*Crystals in this photo are amazonite, turquoise, prehnite, blue opal, and malachite.
Many times the stones or crystals you are instantly drawn to are the ones that work best for you in that given time.
You’ll find that they have a very particular way of choosing us all on their own — not the other way around… Or maybe it’s the faeries whispering to us which ones they like to work with, who knows.
In either case we just have to stay open to our intuition and gut feeling, as those always lead true.
amethyst
Associated with intuition, magic, and wisdom, Amethyst relates to Avalon and the realm of the faeries. Try using this one in your meditations into the faerie realm as it helps part the veil more easily, giving a protective energy while entering the realm of the fae.
Amethyst can help us become more aware of the faeries around us and helps us learn their magic and hone our psychic abilities to pick up their messages more easily.
Wearing amethyst also lets the faeries know you are open to working with them and learning their special magic.
fluorite
Fluorite is one of my absolute favorite crystals!
It is also perfect for children or beginners as it has gentle energy and can be used as an alternative to the more potent amethyst.
Fluorite helps us learn to recognize the spirits of the faery and other souls living alongside us, heightening our psychic awareness of the energies and auras all around us. It can guide us safely into the faery realm and back again, bringing back faerie wisdom to be used in our life in a practical way. It is a very soothing and peaceful stone, wonderful for times of extreme stress and fatigue.
Faery spirit quartz
This beautiful spirit quartz from South Africa has a very high vibration of bright and almost angelic energy. It connects us to the high Kings and Queens of faerie and those that are more highly evolved such as the Elves of Light.
Spirit Faery Quartz opens our Higher Chakras, especially our Crown and Soul-Star Chakra, taking our psychic abilities and vibrations to another level.
This is an ideal crystal to have on our altar or creative space, as it harmonizes our relationship with both faeries and humans, and enhances any kind of healing work.
herkimer diamond (faery diamonds)
These brilliant double-terminated quartz are crystals with exceptional clarity that can teach us value and worth, as they are not technically diamonds, but they have the same spiritual value and energy. Like the Spirit Faery Quartz, this crystal especially attunes us to the high Kings and Queens of faerie, and ofcourse, any faerie that loves a bit of sparkle.
This is a stone of knowledge and attunement of the wise elder and monarchs of the faerie. Used in crystal gridding or healing work, this stone brings the energy to the highest level.
I also found that placing it under my pillow at night brings on intuitive and vivid dreaming linked with the faerie realm and past lives as it is linked with the Celtic Goddess of Dreams: Caer Ibormeith.
faery cross (staurolite)
Faery crosses are stones of compassion, comfort, and support during difficult times.
Keeping a faery cross in your home is said to bring harmony and mutual respect between humans and faeries. Their qualities, together with the faeries, help us learn balance and moderations in all areas of our life, especially workaholics or those who struggle with addictions of any kind.
Traditionally, Faery Crosses have been used to attract friendly faeries and bring harmony in connecting our energies as one. They are a wonderful addition to your faery altar and home, bringing a peaceful vibration, good luck, protection, and faerie blessings.
amazonite
Amazonite is a very high vibrational stone and very effective when used to communicate with nature spirits and faeries. It promotes vivid dreaming and astra travel when placed under your pillow at night, helping you recall the dream once awake.
Amazonite has the ability to literally shift your vibrational frequency so that you are more aligned with the faeries. It also helps you speak from the heart and remain honest and open, which is very important when working with the faeries.
Because of its strong psychic energy, some find it’s vibration a little overwhelming so it’s not normally the ideal stone for beginners or children.
smoky quartz
Smoky quartz is immensely grounding and stabilizing. Working with this crystal is like extending your roots into the deep nurturing soil and connecting to the very core of the Earth.
It is especially associated to Scottish faeries — Earth deities such as Gaia, Danu, and Pacha Mama, and faerie spirits of the deep earth such as Gnomes, Knockers, Brownies and Dwarves.
This stone is especially perfect for use after meditation and astral travel as it brings us back to the here and now, rooting both feet solidly on the ground.
moonstone
Moonstone is another favorite of mine! It comes in various colors such as opalescent white, black, green and peach.
This stone has the ability to show us our own soul and inner light and contains the power and energy of the full moon. There are many ancient sites where faeries are known to dance under the full moon’s light.
It is a wonderful stone for connecting with Mermaids, Selkies, and Morgens who are deeply affected by the moon as they dwell in tidal oceans.
Also called the “Dream stone”, moonstone encourages vivid, lucid, and psychic dreaming and is perfect for any magic or ritual work, especially by the light of the moon.
rutilated quartz (faery/mermaid hair quartz)
A wonderful healer of energies, rutilated quartz clears our aura and removes any negative energy blocks or thoughts (especially those concerning our appearance) and replaces them with positive energy.
It’s golden, thread-like inclusions are associated with a faerie or mermaid’s beautiful silver or golden hair, delicate looking but strong and powerful.
Some faerie queens famous for their long beautiful hair are Niamh, (daughter of the Manannan mac Lir, God of the sea), and the Irish faerie Flidais, queen of the Wild Wood. These faeries encourage us to celebrate our inner beauty (no matter how long our hair) and connect with the magic of our soul’s light.
Use this crystal to call on the faeries to guide you in seeing beauty in others and yourselves and view the world from their perspective.
Labradorite
A highly spiritual stone, Labradorite connects us to ancient magic and the deepest parts of our very soul.
In ancient myth, it was said that the magic of the Northern Lights were captured in this stone.
Labradorite connects us to spiritual warriors such as Valkyries and Freyja and the Warrior Faeries or the Northern Lights, bringing out our own warrior within.
This stone protects our aura from dark and negative energies. It acts as a shield of light and magic, and brings us hope and empowerment in the darkest of times.
aquamarine
Aquamarine, just like water, is a gentle healing stone that cleanses away negative vibrations and emotions dissipating any fear or doubt.
This stone connects us to the mermaid-faery guardians of water, the Lady of the Lake, the Guardians of the Wells, the Nymphs of rivers and Naiads of streams, the Mer-people of the sea, and Sea Sprites, Selkies, and Morgens.
Aquamarine is also associated with Gods of the Sea such as the Norse God Njord and the Celtic god Manannan mac Lir.
This stone is especially useful when meditating to connect with these nature spirits to heal the water of our planet — to fulfil and manifest our own inner power and speak our truth.
Jade
Jade is not only a stone of divine abundance but also of ancient wisdom.
I’ve found Jade to bring deep connections with the higher beings of the faery realm and the fire spirits such as the Dragon and Firebird.
It also aids us in gaining a deeper understanding of their wisdom and magic, raising our consciousness to a higher level.
It is a good ally when performing magic for the highest good, connecting us to the wisdom of the ancients and protects us from any harmful or deceitful entities during spirit work.
Malachite
Malachite is a powerful stone of healing and transformation.
It absorbs negative energy, discharging it and creating a protective shield around you.
Although it is strongly connected to the spirits of the Earth, Malachite is also associated with the fire element, which is unusual for a green stone. It is a potent healer when used together with the faery nature spirits to heal our planet and can bring powerful change and transformation.
As a natural amplifier of energy, It has extremely powerful vibrations and can be a little overwhelming for beginners or for children (even though my two-year-old is highly drawn to it).
Prehnite
Prehnite is a stone of unconditional love and peace.
A perfect stone to connect with the faeries through the heart, prehnite quiets the mind helping us to connect and channel more easily.
I found this stone to strongly connect me with the plant and tree spirits and the faerie healers of the Earth. It has a gentle vibration, both powerful and soothing at the once.
Prehnite is a wonderful stone to place on your faery altar and crystal grids, inviting faerie protection and a calm sense of inner peace.
prasiolite
Another soothing stone for the Heart Chakra, Prasiolite dissipates fear, stress, anxiety, and sadness.
This stone strengthens our connection with the faeries and nature spirits, aiding in clear communication and insight.
It is a perfect stone for journeying into the faery realm and aids astra travel opening the Third Eye chakra and strengthening our auric field and can bring on vivid dreams.
epidote (in matrix)
Epidote is a powerful mystic healing stone. It is a stone of abundance, spiritual growth, and awareness.
It an be used for manifesting dreams, raising your vibration, and helping you let go of what’s holding you back from reaching your goals and dreams. When meditating or journeying, this stone will help bring illumination and clarity on any spiritual questions or aspects. As it amplifies your emotions, it can be combined with amethyst to help shield negativity.
Epidote is a strong healing stone of the heart, and is useful in strengthening our immune system. It is also a powerful addition to any nature healing ritual as it is strongly connected with the earth element.
petrified wood
In ancient times, Petrified wood was said to possess divine power. It was once an ancient living, breathing tree – a dryad spirit that has fossilized over thousands of years.
When meditating with this stone it is possible to connect with the ancient magic and wisdom of the past — when our spirit was cradled by nature and the faery realm was much more tangible and intermingled with our own world.
It is an extremely soothing and grounding stone, useful in times when life gets too much to handle. It teaches us to live in simplicity and harmony with the earth and care for the environment. Paired with Malachite or Epidote, these stones make a powerful tool for healing our planet.
pyrite (faery gold)
Pyrite is also widely known as “Fool’s Gold” which comes from an old tale of the Leprechaun who hides his pot of Gold at the end of the rainbow and tricks humans by providing “faery gold” instead of real Gold.
But there are also faeries that share their treasures and magic in exchange for acts of kindness from humans. These faeries show us that while Pyrite may not be perceived as valuable as Gold to many, it’s real power and magic is that it can be used for many practical things like in batteries, solar panels, and even lighting a fire, but also in the spiritual value of protection and strength.
It also aids any ritual or faery magic work, enhancing protection and abundance.
Placed on our faery altar, this stone can connect us especially with Dwarves, Leprechauns, Spriggans, and the faeries of the Fire element.
clear quartz
Quartz has been popular throughout ancient history and cultures. In northern Europe, this crystal is associated with the mountains and the Wights, Etins or Giants that live on them. In ancient Japan quartz represented Chi, or the solidified breath of the Dragon. It is also associated with the two ice giants of our solar system Neptune and Uranus.
Clear quartz brings clarity and focus, memory, energy, and concentration. It helps us attune to the great Universal Energy that is in all things. Quartz holds the wisdom of the past, present, and future, and encourages us to search deep within our souls to find it.
The many rainbows inside these crystals can create a rainbow bridge between the faerie world and ours. Strongly linked with the Ice Faeries, the Elves of Light, and the Mountain Faeries and Giants, it can strongly activate the Third Eye and Soul Star chakras, enhancing our psychic and healing abilities.
If this crystal feels a little overwhelming, Snow quartz is a gentle alternative.
Ruby in fuchsite
Ruby in Fuchsite is an intense heart stone that brings joy and love for life. It works together with the faeries to also boost your energy level when you feel run down.
This small but powerful stone swiftly enables communication and connection to the faery realm. When used in meditation, it activates our Crown chakra, stimulating our intuition and enhancing our meditative state. It brings balance through the heart and encourages enthusiasm and harmony with all living beings.
Used in combination with prasiolite or placed on your altar, it creates a powerful connection with the faeries to clear any blockages and bring a loving and positive atmosphere.
I hope you enjoyed learning a little about each crystal and how I have found them helpful for me in working with the faeries!
Like I said earlier, each stone will work slightly differently for each person, so I strongly suggest you try connecting with them for yourself and see what insight they bring you.
It’s also very important to cleanse and charge your crystals regularly and especially when you first receive them. You can find many books and articles online about how to do this if you have never worked with crystals before there are many books and articles online on how to do this.
Two of my favorite books are the Crystal Bible and the Crystal Companion by Judy Hall
If you do not have any stones or crystals of your own you can always connect with natural stones of nature. I often pick up rocks from my walks on the seaside or mountain hikes, and bring them back for my faerie altar. They hold a special energy as well and are not to be overlooked.
(If you wish to purchase some crystals and try a few of the ones mentioned here I recommend an online resource shop “Crystals Untamed”, whose links are in the resources section as well.)
So let’s take a look at some other ways we can communicate with the faeries…
