You see how important it is to let the painting lead you step by step?
I often start with one idea and it evolves into something even better and maybe even completely different! The key is to remember to listen.
Take breaks, go easy on yourself. Remember, we are painting for pure self-expression, no one else in the whole world is exactly the same as us, therefore our paintings are all unique in our own special way.
You are special, and your voice matters!
Now I want to address a subject we often tend to shy away from, or are sometimes scared to death to confront…
And yes I am talking about painting a male portrait. 🙂
I admit, it scares the hell outta me too sometimes.
But let me tell you a secret. If we follow some simple guidelines, and learn to tell the differences when painting a male Vs a female it is really quite easy, and I even find it enjoyably refreshing!
