Hi friends, welcome to my bonus lesson for this workshop!
Tuscany is another one of my favorite places to visit as I also live so close by, in less than an hour’s drive from Bologna we are in Florence!
I have have always loved the Tuscan countryside, the rolling hills, vineyards, sunflower and poppy fields, and where I live the countryside looks just like it.
In this lesson I share with you my love for these places and as we paint the Tuscan scene and listen to some Italian music you can almost imagine yourself standing there, under the Tuscan sun…
So let’s begin this journey shall we?
Here are the supplies I used for this lesson:
SUPPLIES
- Canvas, wood panel or heavy acrylic paper
- Charcoal pencil & kneaded eraser
- Gesso & acrylic color such as burnt sienna or umber (for toning)
- Various paintbrushes (I used filberts & round) and a palette knife
- Heavy body acrylics (please use the colors you have, in the tones of blues, greens, and reds.) I used: Cadmium red medium and alizarin crimson; cerulean blue & manganese blue; Veridian green, green gold, and brilliant yellow green. You’ll also need a titanium white and either a dark purple or Payne’s gray for the shadows, and a dull yellow (I used Naples yellow).
