Faeries are not just part of nature, they ARE nature.
The world of the Fae is an ancient doorway, a “Faeryland” that co-exists with our own world…
A world in which we only get occasional and tantalizing glimpses, separated from our own by only a thin veil of consciousness.
And while faeries live on a different plane than we do, they are real living elemental beings that have individuality and a personality unto itself.
“We can all learn to have the sight to see the faery world around us. It shimmers in every autumn leaf and lingers in every cool blue shadow; it gives every stone and stream and grove of trees a vibrant, animate life. Second sight can also be called in-sight: into the faery realms, into the very heart of nature, and into the mystical world that lies deep within the human soul.” – Brian Froud
As a child I could see and sense faeries with remarkable ease. That was before I was taught to “put away my childish things”, and lock away those memories as merely a silly child’s overactive imagination.
As I grew up, my overly religious caretakers began to turn my mind away from such nonsense, thinking it was what was best for me. They said I too often had my head in the clouds, as they caught me distracted in class, listening or watching one that no one else claimed to see.
So the years went by as I began to look at life like all the others did, rationally, and with a no-nonsense attitude. I didn’t have time for frivolous things. I began working when I was 17, a couple of years after my dad left us. I had lost all my connection to childhood and was forced to “grow up” and be a sensible young lady.
Many years later, after my first child was born, I began to watch him in his toddler years and how he sensed and saw the faeries just like I did. I began to feel a deep longing and finally realized how I had missed their connection.
It was then that they began to show up in various ways, especially in my art. I then began my slow and delicate re-acquaintance with them.
I discovered that, as adults, we can not only learn from them but also work together with them in a mutual respectful relationship.
Faeries not only live on the astral plane – a world parallel to our own, but also anywhere within nature. From the sea to forests and woodlands, to mushroom clusters and root systems, some even inhabit our homes, and gardens.
If we learn to treat them with respect they can bring prosperity and luck to our home, harmony, peace, and reassurance to anyone going through difficult times.
Faery folk have the ability to see our heart. They are a reflection of the inner nature of our own souls.
I am the first to admit that working with faeries can be tricky and it takes a lot of patience. It took me years to gain my own confidence and their trust – and I’m still working on it!
But if we approach them with loving respect and truly believe in their power, it can be so rewarding and well worth the extra effort.
Have you wondered dear soul, why you were drawn to this workshop?
As Light Workers, healers, and artists, we are the faery shamans and myth-makers, journeying deep into the uncharted inner worlds to bring back their messages, visions, and insight.
The faeries have chosen YOU now. They are open and willing to offer their guidance, protection, and healing.
If we can keep our hearts wide open they will, undoubtedly, reveal themselves.
“Faeries are not only seen through the eyes but through the heart.” -Brian Froud
